Job Description

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has anticipated vacancy(s) for a Director of Special Projects.

Job Qualifications


The Director of Special Projects provides leadership in the research and development of new programs and initiatives for grades P-12, while at the same time, coordinating the evaluation to determine the impact such programs and initiatives are having on improved student learning. This person will also lead district efforts to ensure high expectations for student attendance through leading a team to implement evidence based improvement strategies.



Education and Experience

    • Masters degree or above
    • Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a school district leader preferred 
    • Minimum five (5 ) years' experience as an elementary or secondary staff member preferred
    • Experience in grant writing and providing staff development
    • Valid NYS School District Leader Certification
